A crazy storm moved in over the outer banks the other night.

This cloud was spinning and coming out of the sky. I thought a tornado was going to spawn out of it. Fortunately it never happened.

Storm front moving over the ocean.

There was a nice lightning show once the storm moved over the ocean.

Once the storm moved over the colors in the sky to the west were beautiful. That's the Wright Bros. Memorial in the background.

Photos taken 6-8-11 before and after the smoke rolled in from the Stumpy Point forest fire a few miles inland from the Outer Banks. The Wright Brothers monument is in the background for reference.

Lighthouse 5-12-11

I pulled up and this was the first thing I saw.  It is said when a wave breaks over the horizon it has a 15 ft face or greater. This thing steamrolled all the way down the point.

Coast Guard station #166 built in 1917 Corova, NC. It's a few miles from VA border. The guys who operated this station  literally lived in the middle of nowhere. To this day an 8.5 mille drive up the beach in 4 wheel drive is necessary to reach this spot.  It is worth it though, it's beautiful up there.

Typical fall afternoon on the Outer Banks.  No humidity, big puffy clouds, golden light and the brown
sea oats in the foreground give it away. There is no place I would rather be. Mid October, 2010.
Where the sound literally meets the ocean.  This became an inlet after Hurricane Isabel in 2003. It was affectionately known as Isabel inlet.  Frisco, NC
